Carol A. Englund, 71, of Janesville, WI passed away unexpectedly at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison on Monday, August 29, 2011. Carol was born in Janesville on September 5, 1939, the daughter of Bert and Alice (Mathews) Cooper. She graduated from Janesville High School in 1958. Carol married Dale R. Englund on May 26, 1962. She resided in the Wales, WI area for many years and was employed by Magnetek in New Berlin retiring as a supervisor. Following retirement, she returned to Janesville where she was a member of First Baptist Church, volunteered at the front desk of Mercy Hospital, was involved in the school breakfast program and was very active with the Ladies Elks.

Carol is survived by a son, Steven (Kathie) Englund of Janesville, a daughter, Susan Englund of Oregon, WI, a granddaughter, Kaitlyn Englund of Janesville, her precious granddogs, Mollie, Shadow and Abbie. She is further survived by her sisters, Gwen Spencer of Red Bluff, CA, Maxine McKilligin of Janesville, Barbara (Robert) Richter of Janesville, Shirley Cooper of Milwaukee, her brothers, Duane (Kathy) Cooper of Janesville, Donald (Margie) Cooper of Round Rock, TX, Everett (Lynda) Cooper of Post Falls, ID, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Carol’s husband, Dale Englund preceded her in death on March 8, 1988. She is also preceded in death by her parents, Bert and Alice Cooper, her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Herb and Mildred Englund, a brother, Roger Cooper and two sisters, Dorothy Watson and Lorraine Swirgsdin.

Visitation will be Thursday, September 1, 2011 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Henke-Clarson Funeral Home, 1010 N. Wright Rd., Janesville. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, September 2nd at First Baptist Church, 3414 Woodhall Drive, Janesville with Rev. Jerry Amstutz officiating. Burial services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Salem Cemetery, Wales, WI. The Englund family is being assisted by Henke-Clarson Funeral Home. www.henkeclarson.com.
